Welding Process Features

AC TIG Welding

Advanced AC TIG controls provide precise management of arc characteristics and heat input for high-quality aluminium welding.

• AC Balance Control: Adjusts oxide removal to help achieve clean, high-quality aluminium welds.
• AC Frequency Control: Controls arc cone width to improve directional control and precision.
• Independent Amplitude/Amperage Control: Allows electrode positive (EP) and electrode negative (EN) amperages to be adjusted independently for precise control of heat input to the workpiece and electrode.

AC Waveforms

• Advanced Square: Produces a fast-freezing weld puddle, deep penetration and faster travel speeds.
• Soft Square: Delivers a smooth, soft arc with excellent puddle control and good wetting action.
• Sine: Provides a traditional, quieter arc with good wetting characteristics.
• Triangular: Reduces heat input and is ideal for thin aluminium, supporting faster travel speeds.

DC TIG Welding

Provides an exceptionally smooth and precise arc for welding stainless steel and specialty metals. Pulse functionality helps improve puddle agitation and arc stability while increasing travel speeds and reducing heat input and distortion.

Pulse Waveforms

• Square: Creates a fast-freezing puddle for precise arc control.
• Sine: Reduces audible noise and produces a more fluid puddle, making it suitable for overlay applications.
• Triangular: Forms a puddle quickly while further reducing heat input for thin materials.

AC/DC Stick Welding

• DIG Control: Adjusts arc characteristics to suit specific applications and electrodes. Lower DIG settings provide a smoother arc for electrodes such as E7018, while higher settings deliver a stiffer, more penetrating arc for electrodes such as E6010.
• Hot Start™: Adaptive control helps provide reliable arc starts while reducing electrode sticking.
• AC Frequency Control: Improves arc stability for smoother AC stick welding.
• Stick-Stuck Detection: Detects when an electrode sticks to the workpiece and switches off the welding output to help remove it safely and easily. This feature is menu selectable.
