AC Balance Control

Adjusts oxide removal during AC TIG welding, an essential function for producing clean, high-quality aluminium welds.

AC Frequency Control

Controls the width of the arc cone to improve directional control and precision during welding.

AC Waveform Selection

• Advanced Square: Produces a fast-freezing weld puddle, deep penetration and faster travel speeds.
• Soft Square: Delivers a smooth, soft arc with excellent puddle control and good wetting action.
• Sine: Provides a traditional, quieter arc with good wetting characteristics.
• Triangular: Reduces heat input, making it ideal for thin aluminium and applications requiring faster travel speeds.

Independent Amplitude/Amperage Control

Allows electrode positive (EP) and electrode negative (EN) amperages to be adjusted independently, providing precise control over heat input to the workpiece and electrode.

DC TIG Welding

Delivers an exceptionally smooth and precise arc for welding specialty metals and applications requiring excellent arc stability and control.

Pulse Welding

Pulse functionality can improve puddle agitation and arc stability while allowing increased travel speeds. It also helps reduce heat input and distortion, making it useful for applications requiring greater thermal control.

Pulse Waveform Selection

• Square: Creates a fast-freezing puddle for precise arc control.
• Sine: Reduces audible noise and produces a more fluid puddle, making it suitable for overlay applications.
• Triangular: Forms a puddle quickly while further reducing heat input for thin materials.

AC/DC Stick Welding

Versatile AC/DC Stick welding controls allow operators to tailor arc characteristics to suit different electrodes, materials and welding applications.

DIG Control

Adjusts the arc characteristics to suit specific applications and electrode types.

• Lower DIG Settings: Provide a smoother-running arc for electrodes such as E7018.
• Higher DIG Settings: Deliver a stiffer, more penetrating arc for electrodes such as E6010.

Hot Start™

Adaptive control helps provide reliable arc starts while reducing the likelihood of the electrode sticking during ignition.

AC Frequency Control

Improves arc stability for smoother performance when AC Stick welding.

Stick-Stuck Detection

Detects when an electrode becomes stuck to the workpiece and switches off the welding output to help remove the electrode safely and easily. This feature is menu selectable.

MIG Welding Capability

Compatible with Voltage-Sensing Wire Feeders

The power source's constant-voltage (CV) output provides MIG welding capability when paired with a compatible ArcReach® Suitcase feeder or another suitable voltage-sensing wire feeder.

• Flexible Setup: Supports compatible voltage-sensing wire feeders for added versatility.
• Arc-Powered Feeder: The feeder operates using the power source's arc voltage.
• Wire Compatibility: Supports both solid and flux-cored welding wires when used with a compatible feeder.
